Dr Melinda Bredin - B.A. (Psych),
B.Chiro, M.N.Z.C.A
Clinic Director & Principal Chiropractor
Dr Melinda Bredin has been
practicing in her clinic, Chiropractic Touch, for over 7 years after
graduating from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. Dr
Bredin has a particular interest in caring for pregnant women and
newborns and has many whole families under care.
Dr Bredin uses very gentle
techniques to adjust the spine and specializes in one of the most
popular ‘low force’ techniques in the world, utilizing an adjustment
instrument called an Activator. “Because it’s many times faster
than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist,
making adjustments comfortable and effective.”
Dr
Bredin
is
passionate
about
the
positive
changes
Chiropractic
care
can
bring to anyone’s life and loves to see her patients notice the benefit
it brings to all areas of their lives. “Chiropractic care allows
the human body to function at its most optimal level. Keeping
your nervous system free of interference with regular Chiropractic care
is one of the best things you can do to ensure good health and get the
most out of your body.”
In addition to running the clinic in Takapuna and seeing her patients,
Dr Bredin also teaches part time at the New Zealand College of
Chiropractic.
Dr Ali Abbas - B.Chiro
Chiropractor
Dr Ali Abbas studied health science at Otago University 2004-05 before
moving back to Auckland to study Chiropractic at the prestigous New
Zealand College of Chiropractic.
Dr
Abbas
graduated
with
clinical
merit
for
high
achievement
in
clinical
practice. Initially skeptical about chiropractic, Dr Abbas has
experienced remarkable improvement in his own health being plagued by
allergies, sinus problems, constant colds/flu’s and weight trouble
which are all much improved since being regularly adjusted.
Dr
Abbas
has
seen
many
patients’
health
improve
as
a
result of being
adjusted and making improved lifestyle choices. He is excited to
have the opportunity to educate and adjust as many people as possible
and guide them toward optimal health through natural chiropractic care.
Dr Sima Pir
has an interesting background before studying to become a Doctor of
Chiropractic. She was an actress and TV presenter for a childrens
television show and involved in feature films and theatre back in her
home country of Iran. After completing a degree in Lingustics,
with a major in translation of English language (her fourth language),
Dr Pir made New Zealand home with her husband and daughter. Dr Pir's
second daughter was born here in Auckland.
Dr Pir is still a qualified
liaison interpreter and is an official member of NZSTI. She is
now excited to add Registered Chiropractor to her list of credentials.
"Life couldn’t be better. There is no better joy in the
world than having children although a few years later life opened
another door to a very wonderful world to me, 'The World of
Chiropractic'. An amazing world that fulfilled my life with whatever I
wished for. With chiropractic care I feel younger and healthier and I
am aware of my body’s abilities now. I know now that my body is so
intelligent and is able to heal itself, and the only thing it needs is
a light force to initiate it; chiropractic care provides that force. I
would love to share this with everyone, with whoever breaths and lives;
as we all are worth it."
Dr. Cherye Roche comes to us
from the U.S. via the U.K. She immigrated to New Zealand in June
of 2009 and settled in Takapuna. Cherye has been a Chiropractor
for 21 years. In addition to practicing at Chiropractic Touch two
days a week, she is an academic lecturer and clinical supervisor at the
New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
In
her
private
practice
Dr.
Roche
has
a
focus
on
helping people with
chronic musculoskeletal conditions. She offers a specialized
biomechanical approach to the assessment of her patients to identifying
underlying problems in the foot and lower extremity that might be the
root cause of a chronic condition. Using gait analysis pressure plate
technology, she can then identify the biomechanical source of a problem
that can cause injury, prevent recovery, and impede performance.
Then, Chiropractic adjustments, specific exercises and custom orthotic
therapy are used to restore normal function.
Rosie has been massaging for over
10 years. Her main field of expertise is Neuromuscular Therapy
(NMT). This is a more advanced form of massage therapy that looks
at the whole picture to help treat the source of the problem, not just
the symptoms. NMT uses selected techniques to shut down trigger
points, realign posture and increase overall well being, as well as
feeling like a great therapeutic massage!
As well as working at
Chiropractic Touch on Wednesdays and Fridays, Rosie also works at the
New Zealand College of Massage as a tutor and co-ordinator. Rosie
has two wonderful daughters and a cat.
